Grupo Bafar

Managed LAN/WAN networking and perimeter security services.

BITS case study: Grupo Bafar

The Requirement / Challenge

Design and management of a distributed LAN with unified security. The challenge was to reduce exposure to penalties caused by network outages across geographically dispersed sites and improve WAN link costs.

The BITS Engineering Approach

BITS designed a hybrid LAN using Cisco architecture and a Fortinet SD-WAN network. Intelligent routing over low-cost DSL links was configured for high availability, with QoS policies prioritizing business-critical applications.

Key Results and Benefits

Documented Historical Availability: 99.13%

A historical result within the documented scope of this case. It is not a guarantee or a current, company-wide SLA for other services.

Historical WAN Cost Improvements

The case documented a reduction in WAN costs through intelligent management and dynamic routing; the extent depends on each baseline and contract.

Greater Effective Capacity

Prioritizing mission-critical ERP and telephony traffic increased effective capacity within the documented scope.

Active Perimeter Security Monitoring

Active firewall management and monitoring to reduce exposure and accelerate responses to perimeter risks.
